For a career in Market research, a few things have to be kept in mind. Firstly, the work involves a lot of reading, noting and analysing. Further, there should be meticulous observation and skills of grasping things quickly for any fresher looking to work in this field. A knowledge of researching and research methodology in business is a requisite because the work will require a lot of surveys, data collection, analysis of the data received, fashioning a strategy based on that data, followed by implementation of the information and conclusion of these studies and surveys to come up with better ideas and campaigns that enable the customer to make better choices, to distinguish their company and brand from other companies and brands that manufacture the same product or provide the same services. This also requires one to have a critical approach so they can identify faults in the current methods of working and functioning, in order to work towards better goals and performance. This position is sometimes cumulative with the analyst work because merely research does not suffice at times, it has to be understood, analyzed and worked upon to achieve better results. Therefore, to become a marketing researcher, one must have a good grip on how business and the markets work.
